Terms of sale

At the Stitch Father, you buy unique and qualitative designs; all are tested and optimized for machine embroidery. 

All of the embroidery designs displayed on our website at www.thestitchfather.com  (hereinafter referred to as "Designs") were drawn and digitized by us. All designs are copyright of The Stitch Father.

By downloading and/or purchasing any of our Designs, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of sale.

 

PERMITTED USES OF OUR DESIGNS AND CONDITIONS

You MAY use our Designs to make items for personal use or to sell, according to the following terms.

When you download and/or purchase a Design, the Design remains the property of The Stitch Father. You are purchasing a lifetime license to embroider the Design with an embroidery machine. The license allows you -and only you- to use the Design in a way that complies with these conditions:

  • Personal use for machine embroidery.
  • Use on products made with an embroidery machine that you offer for sale, up to 50 items (lifetime total quantity).
  • Use on products you give as gifts or you donate to charity.

You are allowed to edit the Design in any manner that you choose, but The Stitch Father will own the copyright in the edited Design file. The edited Design file is subject to the same restrictions as our original Designs.

If you are a business or organization purchasing our Designs, you must purchase one copy of the Design for each customer project that uses the Design.

If you are interested in using our Designs to make more than 50 products for sale, you need to subscribe for a commercial license here.

Subscriptions are available up to 1000 units/ year. For larger quantities, please contact us at audrey@thestitchfather.com.

 

PROHIBITED USES OF OUR DESIGNS

You MAY NOT resell, copy, trade, or distribute the Design files.

You may not use our Designs for any purpose other than as specified above without our express written consent. 

Please do not share the Design files. If your coworker, friend, or family member wants one of our Designs, please have him/her come to our site to buy a license for the Design.

The following uses of our Designs are prohibited:

  • Selling, sharing, gifting, trading, distributing in any manner the Design files (in part or entirely).
  • Using our Designs to create digital products for sale.
  • Using our Designs for mass production or factory production of products for wholesale or mass retail sale.
  • Using our Designs on Print on Demand products and/or websites.
  • Using our Designs to create other types of products for sale (cutting machine files, logo, illustration, tattoo etc.).
  • Using our Designs on a "machine for hire" or in any other place that would allow anyone else to access our Designs.

In the event that we become aware of any use of our Designs that violates the terms of this Licensing and Use Policy, your license will immediately terminate, and you will be contacted by us or our legal representative.

Any use you make of our Designs is at your own risk, and we do not assume any liability to any party for any loss, damage, or disruption caused by the use of our Designs.
